Jakarta (10/12) - The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) has achieved the award of integrity zone towards a Corruption-Free Zone (WBK) in 3 Technical Implementation Units (UPTs): the Denpasar Veterinary Center, the Makassar Plant Quarantine Center, and the Surabaya Center for Seed and Plant Protection, as well as the Singosari Artificial Insemination Center, as recipients of the Clean and Serving Bureaucracy (WBBM) award presented directly by the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB), Syafruddin, at the Ballroom Hotel Sultan, Jakarta, on Monday (10/12/18).
Syafruddin, in his address, emphasized that the appreciation of WBK and WBBM is an effort to establish a clean government, "It's not just rhetoric, jargon, or mere slogans. Bureaucratic reform is real and measurable. The implementation of WBK and WBBM is the breath of a more professional government through hard work and integrity that leads to the welfare of the community," said Syafruddin.
Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture also received an award as one of the best Ministries, Institutions, and Local Government Organizations (KLOP) in the Best Gratification Control System category, awarded by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as part of the World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) 2018.
Throughout 2018, a total of 910 government agency work units were proposed for evaluation by the National Appraisal Team (TPN), marking an 88.4% increase compared to 2017, which had only 483 work units. The evaluation results this year identified 200 work units as WBK and 5 work units as WBBM, originating from 195 Ministries and Institutions, 1 province, and 10 municipalities.
Abdul Halim, Head of the Bureau of Organization and Personnel at Kementan, stated that the Ministry of Agriculture has been committed to eradicating corruption and eliminating gratuities since 2009. Various efforts have been undertaken for the prevention and eradication of corruption through Anti-Corruption Guidance and the establishment of a Gratification Management Unit at both central and Technical Implementation Unit levels within Kementan.
These efforts in gratuity management are further supported by the Ministry of Agriculture Regulation No. 97 of 2014 on Guidelines for Gratification Control within the Ministry of Agriculture. The consistent implementation of anti-corruption measures within Kementan has yielded positive outcomes.
