The Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Health, represented by Drh Fadjar Sumping Tjatur Roso, Ph.D., Director of Animal Health, and Drh Enniek Herwijanti, MP, Head of the Balai Besar Insemination Buatan Singosari, attended the inauguration of the second PT Greenfields Indonesia farm located in Wlingi, Blitar regency. The inauguration was carried out by the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto. This second Greenfields farm in Wlingi is an expansion of the first Greenfields farm in Babadan Maduarjo, Malang Regency. This second farm covers an area of approximately 172 hectares and is expected to reach a maximum capacity of 10,000 dairy cows by the end of 2020, producing 50 million liters of fresh milk annually. PT Greenfields Indonesia's dairy farming began in 1997 and currently comprises over 10,000 Holstein and Jersey dairy cows imported from Australia. The primary focus is on producing high-quality liquid milk without fortification, closely resembling the natural composition of fresh milk, in line with PT Greenfield Indonesia's motto, "passion in every drop." Currently, it produces over 46 million liters per year at the Babadan Maduarjo location. The milk production from PT Greenfield Indonesia not only supplies domestic needs but is also exported to Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Cambodia.
With the establishment of the second dairy farm by PT Greenfields Indonesia, it is hoped that it will create a multiplier effect that stimulates economic growth, particularly for the communities around the farm, local farmers, and livestock breeders, while also enhancing the national milk supply.[:]
