THE COOPERATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF LIVESTOCK AND HEALTH BETWEEN SINGOSARI BBIB AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE MANGGARAI REGENCY, EAST NUSA TENGGARA PROVINCE

After the visit of the Chairman of Commission II of the Manggarai Regency DPRD along with the team at BBIB Singosari which was held on May 22, 2019 related to the revitalization of the development of animal husbandry development and animal health in Manggarai Regency, a return visit was made by the Head of the Singosari BBIB Office and staff. The purpose of the visit was to conduct mutually beneficial collaborative exploration and field observations, especially in relation to optimizing the supply and distribution of frozen semen, technical internships / guidance, field trips, and technical assistance in the field of animal husbandry and animal health, all of which were expected to achieve food sovereignty and the welfare of farmers and farmers. in Manggarai Regency. this activity was carried out from 14 July 2019 until 15 July 2019.

Before conducting field observations the BBIB team collected data related to the potential of animal husbandry and agriculture in Manggarai Regency as a basic material in establishing cooperation to be carried out. The data displayed the results of the BPS in 2018 which showed that the current population of cattle was 24,739, buffalos with 7,661 animals, 174 horses, 37,989 pigs, and 10,929 goats. There were 193,867 chickens and 4,515 ducks. Manggarai Regency has an area of ​​167 thousand hectares consisting of agricultural land of … and the area of ​​forage forage is 11.65 Ha. So it can be concluded that the potential for animal husbandry is very large so it needs to be done in a structured and directed handling.
