BBIB Singosari Komitmen Sukseskan SIKOMANDAN

Rabu 24 Juni 2020, Singosari, (Balai Besar Inseminasi Buatan) BBIB Singosari melakukan penandatanganan kontrak pengadaan Semen Beku dengan PPK Direktorat Perbibitan dan Produksi, Direktorat Jenderal Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan (Ditjen PKH), Kementerian Pertanian. Dalam kontrak tersebut telah disetujui pengadaan Semen Beku dari BBIB Singosari sebanyak 430.850 dosis. Semen Beku ini nantinya akan digunakan untuk mendukung Program SIKOMANDAN dari Ditjen PKH.

Program SIKOMANDAN adalah program andalan Ditjen PKH yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan populasi dan produksi sapi dan kerbau di Indonesia. Sapi dan kerbau dipilih karena dagingnya sangat diminati oleh masyarakat, dan permintaannya semakin bertambah.

SIKOMANDAN dijalankan dengan melalui kegiatan Optimalisasi Reproduksi. Melalui kegiatan Optimalisasi Reproduksi ini diharapkan dapat memperbaiki sistem pelayanan peternakan kepada masyarakat, perbaikan manajemen reproduksi dan produksi ternak. Pelaksanaan Optimalisasi Reproduksi ini dilakukan secara terintegrasi mulai dari pendistribusian semen beku dan N2 cair, penanggulangan gangguan reproduksi, penyelamatan betina produktif, penguatan pakan serta peningkatan SDM melalui pelatihan Inseminasi Buatan (IB), Pemeriksaan Kebuntingan (PKb), dan Asisten Teknis Reproduksi (ATR).

BBIB Singosari sebagai UPT Ditjen PKH Kementerian Pertanian, memiliki peran penting dalam keberhasilan Program SIKOMANDAN. Selain memproduksi Semen Beku, BBIB Singosari juga memberikan pelatihan di bidang Manajemen Inseminasi Buatan, edukasi peternakan,  juga bidang lain yang berkaitan dengan pengembangan sektor peternakan.
